Meet us in St. Louis
We’re getting married in St. Louis, MO (aka STL or The Lou), where Amy grew up and Patrick now loves to visit. Our wedding festivities are taking place on Saturday evening, but if you’re in town for the weekend there’s tons to do and see (and eat). Here are some recommendations of our favorite places and must-see visitor faves.
Things to do
City Museum
City Museum is an all-ages playground whose exhibits feature an eclectic mix of repurposed architectural elements, tunnels, slides, and art installations that invite visitors to explore, play, and ignite their creativity. It’s a truly unique STL gem.
St. Louis Zoo
Probably the best free zoo you’ll ever visit, the St. Louis Zoo is home to over 16,000 animals and 500 species and is recognized for its conservation and research. Memorable exhibits include the River’s Edge, Penguin & Puffin Coast, and Big Cat Country.
The Gateway Arch
An iconic symbol of St. Louis, the Arch represents the city's role as the "Gateway to the West." You can take a tram to the top and visit the museum below. It’s the world’s tallest arch and also a National Park!
Science Center
The Saint Louis Science Center is a science museum and planetarium located in Forest Park. With over 750 different exhibits, there’s a lot to do and see at this free museum. Fun fact: you can find the planetarium wrapped in a giant red bow during the holidays!
Anheuser-Busch Tour
Sure, you’ve seen a brewery, but have you ever been to one with Clydesdales? Another iconic STL destination, you can tour the facilities where Bud is brewed and packaged, plus you’ll get a free beer at the end.
The Delmar Loop
While it doesn’t technically loop, this stretch of Delmar Blvd is a popular entertainment and restaurant district. High-school Amy thought it was THE COOLEST place in St. Louis, and some of our faves now are Vintage Vinyl, Seoul Taco, and The Pageant.
Forest Park
As one of the best urban parks in the US (it’s bigger than Central Park in NYC!), Forest Park is houses over 30 miles of trails, the Missouri History Museum (it’s free), St. Louis Art Museum (also free), the Jewel Box (an Art Deco greenhouse), golf course and lots more.
City Foundy
Anything you need- the Food Hall's got it. Pick from quick delights or your gourmet dream. Snag that drink with a friend or dessert on the go. Whether you're looking for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert, you'll find a food to do the trick.
